Danger for Exchange - act immediately!

There is a dangerous gap in Microsoft Exchange. Attackers can use this to take over your Exchange servers via the Internet. There has been a suitable security update since February and Microsoft repeatedly strongly recommends the patch. Nevertheless, there are still about 250,000 servers unprotected. It remains unclear why the installation of important updates has been sporadic.

Errors in the authentication process

The gap is due to an error in the creation of keys. Exchange uses these keys to check the authenticity of objects, among other things. All Exchange servers use the same static keys for the web interface. This in turn would allow an Exchange user to smuggle in his own (malicious) code and thus take over your Exchange server completely. The only thing he needs additionally are valid access data. But even to get to these is not too big a problem for hackers. Exchange has established itself as the decisive communication center of many companies. No wonder that attackers see this as a great opportunity for espionage, CEO fraud or blackmail.
