Pop chats lead in teams

Today we'd like to introduce you to a useful feature in Teams that we're excited about and that can help you make your work easier. At the end we have added a small video about it.

Pop-Out-Chat in Teams

With Pop Out Chats you have a very good way to get a lot more done in a single operation. You can instantly activate a chat with other team members during an active teams session or during a teams meeting. You can display this in a separate pop out window. You can then change the size and position of the pop out window to your liking.

Conduct many chats at the same time

You can also unfold multiple conversations, but not the same chat again. You can also do other important things while the chat is active. For example, scheduling meetings or attaching files or apps. To do this, simply return to the main app. There you will find your familiar functions. You don't have to close the pop-out chat window to do this.

For which devices is Pop Chat available?

The pop-out chat feature is currently only available in the desktop app for Windows and Mac. Team Pop Chats on the web, Linux, or mobile devices are not currently supported.

How to open a Teams Pop Chat?

You can open a pop chat in teams in different ways. Here you will learn some possibilities.

1.) Using the chat button on the left side of Teams, select the name you want to start a chat with and activate the check by clicking. You will see a new pop-out chat window.

2.) Or move the mouse pointer over one of your chats and a new pop-out chat window will open. Now go to the upper right corner of the chat and select Pop-out Chat .

3.) You can also activate the chat by double-clicking on a profile picture of the contact. 

4.) In the search bar via /pop you also get to the chat function and can now select with whom you want to chat.
