DIWISA is savouring the cloud sip by sip – and making calls with Microsoft Teams Voice.
A Sip of the Cloud
Within six months, Baggenstos transitioned DIWISA from a conventional SIP trunk setup with 30 voice channels on a Mitel PBX and a public main number to a fully cloud-based solution.
The result? A highly flexible telephony system aligned with the company’s evolving business model and staffing needs. Thanks to thorough preparation, the changeover went smoothly not only on the technical front. Employees quickly embraced the new solution and noticed immediate productivity benefits. By integrating Teams’ communication and collaboration workflows, both internal and external processes became more streamlined.
With over 100 years of distilling expertise, DIWISA AG offers a wide range of beverages and spirits, serving the hospitality sector as well as retail. All products are made regionally in Switzerland. As an employer and business partner, DIWISA is committed to sustainability. Founded in 1918, the Distillerie Willisau is now a market leader with over 80 brands in its portfolio.
«After introducing Microsoft 365 a few years ago, moving to Microsoft Teams Voice was the logical next step. Thanks to Baggenstos’ careful planning, the transition was seamless – and our communications are now more predictable in terms of cost.»

DIWISA is taking a gradual approach to cloud transformation, aiming to phase out on-premise infrastructure. One major milestone was the replacement of the legacy phone system – a project led by Baggenstos. Beyond the technical migration, the focus was also on getting employees on board.
The project began with several weeks of analysing communication needs and patterns – time well spent. The Teams Voice setup worked right away, and employees quickly felt at ease using the new clients on both desktop and mobile devices.
With all communication now unified in a single app, Microsoft Teams Voice offers intelligent, flexible, and easy-to-manage telephony.
As with any major change, some employees were initially hesitant. However, thanks to clear guidance from Baggenstos and hands-on support from DIWISA’s in-house IT lead, everyone received personalised training. A particular challenge was onboarding production staff, who don’t regularly work at a computer.
Cloud-based telephony in record time: the move to Teams Voice quickly delivered productivity gains. Employees are no longer tied to desk phones or wall-mounted handsets. Instead, they benefit from the full range of modern communication tools – all in one app.
IT can now scale and adapt telephony with ease, adding customer contact points for new markets without hassle. Most importantly, DIWISA has replaced local infrastructure investments with predictable cloud-based costs.
